What comes to mind when you hear the word postpartum?

Maybe you picture your body, wrapped in mesh underwear and oversized pads.
Maybe you remember the sting of early nursing, or the quiet ache that followed birth.

Maybe you remember all the plans you had, that did not go through—the sadness and grief of it.
Maybe you think of your child’s face and the love that floods in—or maybe you notice how distant you’ve felt, and the guilt that follows.

Postpartum is a simple word, but a complex experience.

It’s a season where we meet not just one person, but many.
We meet our baby.
We meet new parts of ourselves.
We meet new sides of our partners, our families, and even our faith.

Postpartum often brings talks of hormones, diapers, recovery, and advice.
But it also carries silence—and busyness.
Overwhelm—and love.
Disconnection—and overstimulation.
So much that’s unknown, yet so much that’s being discovered.

That’s what this space is for—to explore all that comes with this season of life.
Because postpartum doesn’t end after six weeks, or even a year.
Every stage of parenthood continues to stretch us, shape us, and invite us to grow in ways we never expected.

For many, postpartum becomes more than a chapter—it becomes a journey of becoming.
A journey of tears and joy, exhaustion and renewal, discovery and grace.

And guess what? There is no right or wrong way for it to go. Only the willingness to walk through it with openness—to grow, to heal, and to become the mothers we have been called to be.

Welcome to this space. A place to honor your process, your growth, and your story—no matter what season you’re in. —Esmeralda Cardenas, LPC, PMH-C
